LIFE STORY AND EXPERIENCES OF DIANNE

HER EDUCATION & CAREER

Dianne is a woman who lived her early life as an army brat indulging in memorable experiences and traveling. She earned a B.A. in craft with a concentration in ceramics in the late 60s. Dianne also valued education and learning. Therefore, she earned an M.F.A. in fiber arts and then a Ph.D. in university and college-level teaching.

By a twist of fate, she ended up teaching art history with a specialty in crafts at the University of North Texas.

THE EARLY RETIREMENT

In 2002, Dianne took early retirement from teaching to move to Ketchum/Sun Valley in Idaho to open Taylormade Pottery. She made functional pots and managed the pottery until 2016, when her husband, Elmer, passed away.

They had a gallery and a large storeroom for their pots. Dianne packed them all and brought them back to Texas in 2017, where she moved to be close to family. She planned to sell them on this website some day, but grieving and settling in Texas postponed that for several years.

HONEST & UNIQUE POTTERY MAKING

Today, at Taylormade Pottery, Dianne is dedicated to offering people the privilege of decorating their tables and kitchens with her beautiful handmade pottery. Her designs are rare and safe to use at home for eating and keeping food.
